Empathetic Listening is What I Am

Vulnerability. As an adult this word has the power to evoke fear in even the estrogen individual. However, at the same time, we are yearn to be vulnerable - we long to be our true authentic selves. There is one problem however: the world we live in isn`t always conducive for this very basic human need. This is why I, Valerie, created Ears 4 Listening. Ears 4 Listening was birthed from my personal journey. I wanted to create a safe haven where people could be honest about what they are feeling and what they are going through. So often as adults we are told to suck it up and not to show weakness. When we show any sign of vulnerability we are demeaned. My journey began when I was no longer satisfied to live behind a wall of fear. I longed to be free and I was determined to find that freedom. I will not say I have already arrived, but I am well on my way and have a slew of victories to my credit. Some of the tings I have overcome are:

• Debilitating Social Anxiety

• Depression

• Drug Abuse

• Alcohol Abuse

• Intrusive thoughts

• Depression

• Suicide

• Abuse

• And so much more...

So when I say I understand its not just filler... I really do understand what you are going through. And even more than that I really do care. It was through all these challenges that I realized my gift - listening with an empathetic ear and encouraging others.
